Good evening Farmall folks. Just sitting thinking at my desk and I was wandering if there is any Ham radio operators or Tractor Nets on the Amateur radio.

If you guys get something going please post time and frequency..Thanks

Obviously time and frequency will play a big role in whether or not we can communicate depending on individual geographical location. I am in NH and in most cases can comunicate with Maine on 80 during the day and with some reliability in the evening. Keep me posted

and 80 meters 3.935 at 9pm EST sound to you?

Talk to you tonight.

Hello, name is Paul , WG0G
I do not know of any current nets for tractors.
I operate daily and have HF to UHF in my car. I cover a 7 state area and use ham radio to pass the time between stopping to look at and try and buy old Farmall"s. I spend most of my time on 40M and 80M.
Pick a time and freq, will try and meet you. I can also stop and look at tractors for sale in the upper mid-west area.

Amateur Extra, but I never use it.

Call me antisocial, but I never really enjoyed talking to random strangers on the radio.

I guess what it is is that I'm not big on small talk. I'll enjoy an hour long conversation with a stranger, but really struggle with the "soo... nice weather, huh?" type stuff.

Radio lends itself more to small talk. So I got out of it years ago.

I've considered getting back into CW but - would have to buy back into the hobby...

I know the feeling I am not big on it either, But if it would be an interesting subject for us maybe it would be worth while. If I can talk freely here? If you can hear me and I can hear you then the radios are working. (small talk) Now how to tear a transmission out of a tractor now that would be horse of different color.

I agree it's a great idea- I just don't have a radio!

gave mine to an old friend, thinking I'd eventually buy a new one if I got back into it - just hasn't happened.

Let give it a try. What Frequency and Day would you guys like to try? My work schedule changes from week to week so I'll attempt to play catch up. However I am off work at 7pm on the days I do work.

I am General class license holder and thought how cool that would be to have one or just a rag chew time on the radio. Maybe once a week or nightly to talk trator.
