1466pullerIH 02-03-2013 15:46:48 184.59.110.170 Report to Moderator	question about main bearings...I have the old style block with the jet oil tubes that are offset...i ordered a set of wide bearings but the holes are covering up the jet oil tubes..is this is problem...I can find any other bearings or even part numbers...Any help is greatly appreciated... First time I put in a set of mains after they changed to the groove in behind I did a lot of head scratching but IH released a service bulletin explaining the situation. It has enlongated holes that reach over to the oil jets from the groove on inside. Origial bearigs had offset holes that lined up with oil jets. IH felt by moving all holes to center in line with the groove they increased the bearing capacity. Later they went to a wider bearing also by changing the radi on the crankshaft journals, both mains and rods, except thrust main. Wider bearing will not fit older shafts.   [Reply]  [No Email]
