I am rebuilding a 22-36 engine that has not been running in probably 30 years. Mice have been in the exhaust manifold so have ruined all exhaust valves and guides. I have removed three guides by using a 7/16ths bolt through the guides for a puller. The last guide has me stopped though as the valve stem is seized in the guide and a block of wood and a big hammer have failed to remove the guide. I cut the valve head off with a hacksaw so I could get to the guide to try to drive it out.
Anyone have any idea as to how to remove the offending guide without damaging the head? Several on this forum have been very helpful in the past in solving those kinds of problems, so thanks for past and hopefully future help.
