H Belly Pump Cover

I have a Farmall H with no belly hydraulic pump. I am restoring this tractor, and need the cover plate used when there is no belly pump. Does anyone know where I could find one? Or can someone send me some pictures of one on or off the tractor so I can make one? I have never seen the cover, so don't know where to start on making one. (I want it to look as original as possible)

Thanks
John

John, I have a NOS cast belly cover for your tractor. Here is a picture if interested email meand we can talk or?

Bottom was for use with some implements on a stage 2 SH. One you picture was standard for a no pump H and stage 1 SH tractor and also a stage 2 SH.

The plain one is for tractors with no hydraulics, the other would be for a super with live hyd pump as culivator, corn picker etc would have part of the lift mechanism fastened in the slots. I don't think the old mechanical lift cultivators used that but could be wrong on that. You could easily fashion a heavy sheet metal cover as those cast ones are pretty scarce at least they are around here.

If you aren't going to install a belly pump you need one of the cast variations which are shown in the two photos. That cover in addition to covering up the big hole in the bottom of the torque tube adds significant strength to the tractor to help keep it from breaking the torque tube from an unknown event. I have a couple like the one pictured by Randy (neblic) if that is the way you decide to go. My email is open if interested in one, Hal.

I will agree the cast cover adds strength, no problem with that advice. I got jumped all over on one thread when a puller wanted to remove the rear cover of a large frame tractor to reduce the weight and I had the nerve to suggest it also provided strength and stabililty for the final drive.

I always wondered why the funny shape to the casting under the belly pump, anyone have a picture of how an implement used those slots? I always assumed it was to fit some type of tool or lever for installing the pump into the cavity...
