From the serial number list there were about 10,000 1939's out of about 400,000 H's made. So somewhat rare and a little bit more collectible. Not really worth anymore than any other H unless it has the ORIGINAL equipment: starting tank, distallate manifold, shroud and radiator shutters. |

Farmall Boy isn't really dead on with that statement. IIRC the only thing that is '39 only is the starting tank valve and fuel tank sediment bowl. All the other distillate stuff is the same from 39-52.
They are always worth more than a regular H if they have the trough deck and seat. Send me an email if you don't want it. |

| I wasn't saying ONLY 39's were distallate. I was saying that all or most had that arrangement and finding a '39 with it still intact makes it more collectible. |

I know, what I am saying is radiator shutters, heat shields, and most of the other distillate stuff was the same for the entire production run. Steering wheels, decks, mag shuoff (or is it only the little guys that run a cable?) and seat assemblies were not. Those items are a lot more important than the distillate items.
ie The radiator shutters were always SHUTTER AND OPERATING BAR, complete (Mfr. no. 17250) from day one. At least there is no serial number break to show any difference. Maybe the operating rod was different. |

There is a big notch below the seat. See a '39 and there will be no doubt. |
