He's asking me to see if it can be sdjusted,but its been a long time since I adjusted on a pressure plate.I remember you loosen the jam nuts and turn the bolts equal amounts,BUT which way do they turn(in or out ) for more pressure,I know its new and hasnt slipped on him til now.Thanks for any response
 
If free pedal is good then there's not much you can do.
If the clutch is new, was the flywheel resurfaced.
With a new clutch disc, pressure plate and resurfaced flywheel, there should be no problem.
 
The adjusting screws do not change spring pressure; they set the throwout bearing position.
Time to replace parts & resurface the flywheel.
 
Kinda what I originally thought.I usually have always just replaced the clutch and been fine.I think he just has wishful thinking.
 
When an engine is powerful enough to slip the clutch, and the clutch is new (my take on your statement above) a heavier duty clutch cover is needed. Sometimes a puck style driven disk will grab better and work with standard Pressure plate.
Rebuilding the clutch Pressure plate with different primary springs is another option. If you try the rebuild option, stock springs can be shimmed to provide that additional force if (and only if) the coils are not forced together into coil bind when the pedal is fully depressed. Valve spring shims of the correct diameter will work. Jim
 
THe only way freeplay can make slippage is if it dos not exist, as in there is no freeplay. Too much still lets the clutch engage (pinch the driven disk) as much as it can. Which is not enough evidently. As the driven disk wears, it gets thinner, reducing freeplay, not increasing it. So the issue is still going to be including a split of the tractor. Jim
 
When i still had the shop open i had Hy Capacity build me three pulling clutches for Farmall H's . Yep they DID NOT SLIP and ya had best build up your left leg to hold them down for any length of time .
 
Machines, like tractors, are designed to operate as a unit, with all parts specified to work as a team.

When you build up the engine to create more horse power, the designers did not take that into consideration.

Your friend did remove the bolts holding the pressure plate together after installation didn't he?
I bought an h with a slipping clutch once, did not take me long to find the problem! The knucklehead left the bolts in.
