How do you get seal out of cover c123? I cannot tell what is seal and what is cover.Also is NAPA no. 19229 correct seal? I do have cover off tractor. Any pics of seal out of cover? Thanks Tuck
 
It for sure comes out the engien side of the cover. Th seal is sheet metal and the housing is cast iron. From the inside you should be able to feel the offset of the thickness of the seal edge. Collapse it inward and remove it. THe new seal may not look like the old one. Try to place it so it runs its lip in a different location than the original (especially if there is a grove on the pulley shank. Only polish the seal surface on the crank around and around, long ways scratches will eat a new seal very quickly. 400 or 600 paper for final finish. Pack the seal with grease before putting the cover on the engine. Jim
 
The housing is sheet metal also and care sould be taken looking at the cover as sometimes they do get bent thus the seal will ride crooked on the crank pulley. You cannot replace the seal in the housing to avoid the worn spot on the crank pulley. It fits in a small place and will be in the same spot as the original so replacing new seal to ride on a different spot is not possible. Most cases a speedy sleeve is needed on the crank pulley
