SA Seal Problem

Does anyone have a valid cross-oover number for SA part #51-494-DA. This is the oil seal for the differential shaft on a SA. I went to our local IH dealer today who said he had two of them. However, when I got there, the seal he showed me that had this part number was significantly larger in diameter than the one that came out of my tractor. The old seal is a National #410060-SSR. I also tried our local bearing distributor and he was unable to cross the National number into a modern seal. I also tried NAPA. They were able to cross the number but the seal they came up with was also much larger in diameter than my original.

I am dead in the water until I can find this seal. Any help you guys can offer will really be appreciated.

Thanks.

I replaced all the seals in my Super A, either the IH ones or ones crossed to SKF (Chicago Rawhide). They are all available. But, 51494 DA interchanges with 358786 R91 and 358825 R91, ask your dealer to order one of those or cross it to National or SKF.

Are you sure the old seal was not a double seal inside of an outer seal cage. That is what is on all H am M farmalls and a lot of guys dig them out and say, new one is too large when in reality they are correct because they left the old seal cage in.
