went to an action last saturday took an H that ran good after paying actioner it brought 652.50 Now I have a super H that runs but will need rings for sure but I cant even get 1200 out of it . its on yt photo ads in arkansas? Are things really going down that much or is just the red ones??

$1200 for a Stage 1 in good condition may be a little cheap. However you have admitted it needs an overhaul, that will cost about $1000 including parts and machine work if the buyer does it himself. All auctions are different. I sold an M for $1250 that looked no where near as good as your SH, and an H that looked much worse and needed about everything for $400 at an auction last Feb (SW Kansas). I expected the M to bring maybe $800-$1000, but two people wanted it. But based on appearance alone, if it was closer I would be tempted. On the downside, due to the engine it is about a $750 tractor.

the head has already been done all it might need is a kit and they run about 500, might get buy with ony rings and yes I can do my own labor, I put rings in it but think they sent the wrong ones compression is low on all four. But It will not sell for no 750, 1200 is absolutely bottom dollar or I will fix and try to get closer to 2500.But thank you for your input it helps make my mind up.

The economy is your biggest problem.

Also the single front wheel is hurting you. For what ever reason people just don't like them.

Including me. I bought a 300 with the single front at a good discount because po couldn't sell it. It has a fast hitch, which is really cool, but any implement attached made the front end so light it didn't have enough traction to steer.

I swapped it out for a dual front and added some weight and now it's perfect.

The economy is your biggest problem. It's real easy to find a tractor in much better shape, if not restored, for not much more money. Darn sure cheaper than restoring one.

I saw a restored M sell for $3K that had over 7k worth of work done to it.

Rick, Ya can't judge what your SH will bring by what a straight H sells for...your description of your Super H puts it right in the "everyone's happy" price range if you were here in Upstate, NY; buyer can afford to put some money into it and you are happy with your profit. We won't pay more than $1200 for the best most thoroughly restored straight H here; not that there is anything wrong with them, just common as dirt and a BIG dif between them and the Supers.

That"s because $3000 the absolute best that any M no matter what has been done to it will evre be worth...probably more!
And I love Ms!

Rick, I just went and looked at your ad: honestly if it were here in NY I'd hit ya with the $1200 in a minute and I guarantee that someone woulda already beat me to it...but I have completely redone one within the past year so I know what I would have in it...actually with yours a guy could prolly make it right and turn it around for a lil profit here!
I don't believe that the single front should be hurtin ya cuz A)ya can still add frame weights if weight is an issue B)they take the same front pedestal as an H and ya trip over derelict Hs just walking down the street around here so if the pure ugliness of it bothered someone they could swap that out cheap, and C)I like stock pulling, and nuthin better balanced and light than a single front end for that! I think it is your area...us guys up here look at the ads and drool over the prices in the South and Midwest!
I bet that guy with the $4000 one on photo ads is bummin' huh? LOL

Distance is the reason for some of us. Would add at least $500 to the price if I picked it up. Probably more unless driving non stop.
You don't say anything about tires. Since it looks like the non original oil filter canister on the engine. I would wonder if someone just changed the canister, or someone put a early H engine in it.
If you were close I would have already been there to look at it for that price.

Your 500 in repairs and my value of 750 brings it to 1250, which I still call a little low. $2500 is more like a Stage 2. I bought a Stage 2 SH for 2250 10 years ago and a Stage 2 Super M for 2500 2 years ago, the SM is currently under restoration, will probably have 5-6000 in it. SH maybe 4000, I did not overhaul the engine, only the head. Neither is for sale as I am not in that business. The single front wheel is not a detriment as it easily exchanges with a narrow front. My SM came with a aftermarket WF that I am replacing with a NF, because the WF needed repairs and destroys the turning radius. But, yours is worth whatever you and the buyer agree on, good luck!
