you bet it will, same mag.
the diesel engines mag turns opposite direction due to an idler in the timing gears thats the only diff., so dont get the 2 mixed up.

| Rustred is correct. Diesel and gas ignition have the same rotation in the 9 series. They are opposite in the 6 series. This also applies to distributer pump selection.

| oh oh, the original answer is NO not yes as i said. w9 is opposite an m rotation, same thing and diff all at same time.

| basically yes the diesel m mag will work on his w9 but have less advance, as noted.

Sorry, the advance post wasn't there before I started typing. I was thinking there woudl be advance issues if you used a diesel mag.

| Mark"s Magneto Service will exchange the 15 degree impulse cup for a 35 degree one for a nominal price. I did that with a W9 gas mag that I had so I would have a complete spare mag for my MD.
