International 84 hydro tractor

I posted this on a different section but thought I would try it on here.
I have a 684 international, standard trans. and was wondering if anyone have any feedback on the 84 series hydro tractor? I was kind of looking at one. How reliable were they? what should I look for one a used one? and any other useful info on hydros. I just never had one, just old standard trany stuff. We bale a little bit of hay about 2500 small square a year, and a hydro seemed interesting. I can’t afford fancy new stuff so that is why I am looking at the older stuff. I rake hay with a super C or my super H. What might be a good price for one?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Matt Compton who is a member of this forum has a hydro 84. He loves it. I beleive he had to do his hydro over which cost a small fortune.
Make sure you test the hydro well. haul something heavy or play on a steep hill to make sure its not week. They are perfeck for haying, potato digging or planting, snow blowing or loader work. hope this helps. Kent

Had a 966 hydro and a 186 hydro. Used them on loaders, mowed hay, moved bales, cut hay and planted with both. Loved them. Never had any trouble with either of them. I say if its in good shape and seems strong, get it.
