Generator parts and tools

I have a friend who grew up working with his father in an auto electric shop. He is very familiar with all sorts of generators, etc. but can't find a source for small parts, springs and other misc. repair parts. He also wants to buy some of the more specialized tools. Does anyone know of a source for these kinds of parts and tools? thanks, John

The two primary machines/tools are an armature lathe, and an arbor press.
You will also need complete bushing and bearing installing tools (metric and inch diameters for use in the arbor press.
Screw drivers impact drivers, soldering tools including a 500 watt electric iron.
Common hand tools and a good drill press are also important. A medium parts cleaner is mandatory.

Triodiode DC & electric has lots of small parts for starters & gens. Wayne Wietzel is the big cheese. Nice guy who knows his stuff.
Just google them.

If he is going to do it a business then he needs to get lined up with an electrical rebuilder supplier. Generally they will be wholesale only so he would need to be a business to order from them.

Here is a place that I have used to find less common items that I need.
