I bought an 806 this fall knowing that it needed a T/A put into it. It is one of the things ive never done before but willing to give it my best attempt. How long does it usually take to put one in? Im going to go ahead and due clutch and pressure plate while I have it apart too.
Thanks Zach

Here are a few pictures of repair stands that I have designed for doing a TA job. Your repair time may vary, depending how the tractor is equiped and what you have available for repair equipment. 25 hours is a good starting point.

These pictures are from a 986 but a 806 is very similiar. The last picture is out of placed should be moved up two frames. I have many more picture just let me know if you have any questions. E-mail is open

Make sure you buy the complete MCV overhaul kit and a new pump.I did my 1206 last winter and I bought the kit eveything to do a full complete job including all new clutch and a Hd TA.Got a good deal 1300.00

Nice stand , I do mine a little different and what i made up was a adapter to go on my engine stand and i could rotate a full 360 degrees . and work off the one bench on one side and tool box on the other . As for the splitting stands i have three sets , one a full factory set that will handle everything I H made and two homemade . Have all the dealer tools from the S/MTA up to the 88 's , only thing missing is the analyzer for my flow rater.

Charlie: How have you locked or blocked the rear wheels? Why is their no visable diagonal brace from the bottom of the front cab support to the back of the tractor? Looks like that support could kick out. Could you post a picture or two of the front (engine) supports? Thank you. Armand

The Range transmission is in Park so it's not going anyplace. I patterned the cab jack stands after the stands that IH sold as their special tool package. Maybe a brace could be added.
Here is a picture of the front splitting stand, this picture is on a different tractor but same style stand. I could not find a good picture of the front stand on the 986 tractor when I did the TA job.
