Hi everyone. What is a 656 worth with a supposedly good D282 engine in it. The tractors appearance is average to below average. Good tires looks like 75% tread. Tractor is supposed to be mechanically sound. I have not looked at it yet I wanted some feedback on price before I looked at it.

Check out the Clutch, the TA Clutch, and the engine. Hook an 11' harrow to it and see if it will pull it in high third, that is if the soil is not too heavy. See what happens when you put the TA in low range, see if it slips under load. If everything is in good condition it makes a difference in value. A good hard look at the running gear is very important. The paint and tin can be fixed when you have time. Got to know all this before talking about price or you will be buying a pig in a poke. Fixing a TA, a clutch or rebuilding an engine can be very expensive especially if you end up having to do all three. If you do not know the answers to these questions you best consider a low ball offer.
