BATTERY CUTOFF REVISIT

I have done them BOTH ways.Sometimes on the positive side and sometimes the ground for years with equally good results.(It usually came down to which post on the battery was easiest to install it on.)

I have several tractors with battery cutoff switchs Manufacture says to install the cutoff switch in the negative side if battery.

From the electricity's point of view it makes absolutely no difference. A break in the circuit results in the same result no matter where it occurs.

Safety protocol for working around and with batteries is to disconnect the ground post first, so you don't accidentally short out the battery against the frame of the vehicle.

For that reason I would recommend putting the cutout in the ground wire.
