not a chance, turn same direction as gas. why do you think they came with a crank like the gas ones... so you can crank them. have done this many times, started a diesel engine with a hand crank.

They were turning ccw if standing in the front is what you are saying? I've never been around them before.

Or am I all wet and not thinking straight? I know all modern gas and diesels turn the same way, which is clockwise.

The engine that was in my TD-^ IH dozier turned the exact same direction as ALL the other gas/diesel engines I have messed with so maybe you need to back up a bit and rethink things

Like I say, I know my Cummins and Powerstrokes both turn clockwise. I was sure of myself about the IH gas start diesels, but now I am trying to talk myself out of it. However, I know the mags have a CCW rotation.

Rotation of things like starter and mags due to the mounts can/do rotate different on different engines but as I said 99% of engines rotate the same. As for the GAS/DIESEL IH engines they spin the same as thew gas ones do. Just think about it this way. What would happen if engines did not spin the same way and some one say dropped in a V-8 in place of a straight 6 and the 2 did not rotate the same you would have a night mare to fix that so most as I said 99% rotate the same so swaps etc can be made
