Farmall M mw 9 speed

On a m&w 9 speed is the lower shaft(counter shaft) the only one that gets the replacement gears or does the main shaft get some replacement gears as well? What about the small shaft on the side with the 2 gears does this get changed as well? Any help appreciated. Jim.

Also the M&W transmission input shaft and 4th and 5th sliding gear is added. Small gear on the side which is the reverse idler gear is not effected unless one unit has a low low first gear and not the other unit. If both units have standard gears the standard IH reverse idler gear is used.
With standard gears everything forward of 1st and second gear is changed on the countershaft until you get to the counter shaft front support bearing.
