Put international harvester serial number records in your search box. Something should come up with that heading and have wisconsin historical society as the location. Click on and when that comes up you should find a box that says the records are moved. Click on that box and look for farmall works serial numbers. Find the years 1954, 55 and 56. You then find the line that your model is on and follow across until you find the month your serial number falls in.

All you can find out for most is the month and year built.

Sorry, there is a simpler way, but my know how is lacking.

If you can't find it, post the serial and I have a list that will answer your question.

Most found on 55 and 56 pages. Not sure if this is a farmall or international but if it happens to fall in 1954 look below the other tractor lines for the 300. 55 and 56 model pages will look different.

Susan, there are SN listings on the lelt side of this page. But you dont need SNs.There is a 'date code' cast on each of the major castings. It will read like this:5*13*Z. the Z will indicate '54.An A will indicate '55,B-'56.....Look on the right side of engine behind the oil filter,or the left side of the rearend/trans just in front of the brake pedals.

The date on the castings is always prior to the build date. sometimes as much as a month or more. Several dates on differing component castings will let you prognosticate the answer. Jim
