Just send it so a gen shop and they can ghange it then get new regulator and change bulbs and away you go. [Reply]  [No Email]

gbs 12-24-2012 17:00:03 71.51.253.69 Report to Moderator	Re: 12V Generator in reply to pete_5959, 12-24-2012 15:31:19   if your 6 volt generator is good you can use a 12 volt regulator with it and it will work fine the 6 volt gen can produce 17 volts sufficient for volt system,i have and h and know of a couple more setup this way, had the gen checked out buy a rebuild shop he matched a regulator and told me he disconnected the third brush my gen had because it used a cutout relay instead of a regulator originally,only draw back is most gen won't charge at low rpms [Reply]  [No Email]

This would include MD through 450D, WD-6 through W-450D, and the TD-6 and descendents. There may have been alternators on some of the very late ones, but I never saw one in the flesh. Shaft lengths of armature are different so you would most likely need the pulley and belt adjustment slotted bracket also. [Reply]  [No Email]
