Stupid question

I have only been on this forum for about 2 years. I was looking for another Super C tractor for sale on the Tractor House page. I am not pointing any fingers or trying to be a jerk. I was just curious who this John and Leroy Tomlinson were? Do they really get that kind of money for the tractors they have listed on there? It seems it is the same ones month after month at a really high price. JMHO.

I haven't looked at the things you are asking about so this is just a guess. Those are probably asking prices, not what they end up getting for them. Some people believe in asking a "fair" price with no dickering and some start "high" and can always go down on price.

There is a thread on the Buyer/Seller Feedback section on this forum associated with the Photo and Classified ads you might want to find and read about them - it is fairly new and most likely on the first couple of pages. But I think your discovery is not new to them. I've seen other folks asking ridiculous prices for items also with the asking price so far out of line that I don't give the item any thought, Hal.

I always start out with a high price, I can come down but never go up in price.
What you ask and what you get are 2 diferent things.

Some of those ads are never sold. I think some are put in the forms for fun. There is no way a person is stupid enought to pay some of those prices. My 2 cents...

Those are restored and in parade condition. Have you priced a new paint job lately or a set of new tires installed. They know what their tractors are worth. Just look at all the other tractors for sale setting outside cobbled up wiring and the list goes on. Most dont even know what they have. They say tires are fair but you can see in the pic there isnt one one the left side and that rim is rusted away but hes asking pretty good money.

I've thought the same thing about their ads. Heck I don't even hardly pay any attention to them because I dnow they are so ridiculously priced.

In fact I see that a lot more than people that start high and are willing to haggle. The price is the price and it'll rot into the ground before they "give it away."
