856 GAS ??

saw a sale with a ih 856 gas with low one owner hours. so did the 856 comewith a gas motor??, i'm thinking a very few were. i think i've seen a 856 LP . just wondoring , would be a very neat addition to an IH collector for sure
 
they sure did make them. IIRC that was the last of the 'large' gas Farmalls. the LP option ended with the 56 series
 
well this one would be a one of a kind, add says 134 ACTUAL hours, lots of options. documented, would look good even in my barn.
 
I have heard they were an option but know of no one that has laid eyes on one. Man I would love to have it.

Can you imagine the amount of fuel that baby would use. You would have to be dedicated to using it at any cost.
 
Yes, but not very many gas or LP ones. It was the same C301 as the 806 used. As Old F-20 said it was the last model available with all three fuel options.
 
We had one in our area. It was a real dog. Sold on a close out auction a few years ago. I think it brought around $5000.

Ive got an 806LP and i can tell you when you drop 5 bottoms behind it and start working the fuel gauges goes down quick!! good thing i filled my 500 gallon tank for 1.69 a gallon......
