Throw out bearing removal

What is the best way to remove the throwout bearing from the piece that holds it. (see picture of entire component)?

Looks like the first thing you need to do is a good cleaning. Then maybe soak it in ATF over night and see if that helps any. Gentle taps with a hammer may help and or heat after the ATF that is

use a brg. splitter clamped around the lower part of brg and collar and support it in vise or what ever then get a puck the same size as collar on top and just pound the collar out. should not be too teribbly tight.
i have just tapped them off as were not tight.

If you don't have the right tools (which I usually don't) another way it could be done would be to find a piece of pipe or oak lumber or some other round hard object the same size or slightly smaller than the inside bore of the bearing, put it in a vise sticking up vertically, set the bearing holder on it with the bearing on the bottom and tap around the bearing with a small hammer. This may not work depending on how stuck it is but it is a possibility.

Just tap them off with a hammer. If you want to save the bearing, use a soft or dead blow hammer. If you do not have a press , use vise to install new one.

Thanks for the info everyone. I soaked it in ATF overnight, just now gave it a few gentle taps with a hammer and it popped right off. Almost seemed too easy. I appreciate all your input.
