484 Dash Lights

I have an 82 IH 484 w/standard transmission. I have a small yellow flasher in the top left portion of the dash and in lieu of a speedometer I have a large red lens on the right. Apparently there is some sort of fault, whenever the tractor is running the lights flash and cannot be turned off. Any thoughts?

Got a pic of the dash?

Seems to me the only 84 series with a speedometer was the Hydro 84, so lack of speedometer is not unusual.

Perhaps someone wired an elaborate parking brake warning system up? The orange light sounds "normal" for that.

The blinky light in the upper left is the parking brake warning light.
This is deliberately really annoying so you don't drive with the brake
engaged and end up with bits of the lining gunking up the
hydraulics (predecessor machines had a small steady bluish
warning light that apparently too many folks ignored). If you know
the brake is released and you still get the blink then either you have
a wiring short or the switch near the handle (which CIH wants an
unconscionable amount of money for) is shot.
