farmall 100 or 130

Look at serial number plate, or, if it is missings, look for casting dates on main castings.

Harolod H

harolod h. which casting numbers? found some on engine-251089-r1. serial number is 1575. another number found was 1381-j. this tractor was my grandmothers, got it from my uncle, it had a farmall A book, farmall 100 book, farmall 130 book. definantley know it is not an A, by the sheet metal.

The 1575 is the engine RPMs. 1381 is the serial number and J is a serial number suffix that says it left the factory with a Rockford clutch. The number 251089R1 is a part number, which I assume you misread a number that was actually 251069R1.

251069R1 is the part number for a Super A block. So whatever the tractor is, the engine is evidently from a Super A.

With a serial of 1575 it is a 1954 model if a 100, a 1957 model if a 130. The casting numbers Harold refers to are in the format of 11*8*Z, cast Nov 8 1954. Z is 1954, C is 1957. If a 100 the casting numbers will be Z's. If a 130 they will be C's, some could be B's.

I missed the 1381 as the serial, Jim Becker is correct, however that doesn't change anything else in my original post.

(quoted from post at 19:30:16 12/06/12) not sure if i have a farmall 100 or 130
Pretty easy,,,,look at the intake/exhaust manifold...the 100 had a manifold like a Super C, the 130 is different...like the 230 manifold. 130 manifold is "shorter" from the carb to the actual manifold than the 100. Bobinva
