300U Power Steering

Anyone ever try cutting a CharLynn torque generator into the steering column on a 300U to give it power steering? Would also need a priority valve added to the hydraulic system to drive the unit! Anyone know a bone yard where I could get a factory priority valve?
 
Though it might work for a while, it will certainly ruin the manual steering box. The manual box is marginal and one of the most feeble components of the tractor. Letting the steering box stay the same, and putting a hydrostatic steering system off of a combine to push and pull on the drag links will be fine. See Jackson Power Steering company site for ideas, or a purchase. It is a very week point, and will not survive. PS from a 350U, or with some mods a 460U will work. Jim
 
If I can strip the steering box on my 350U with only armstrong steering, no way will it hold up to a torque generator! Go with a Jackson style set up.
 
I ll sell you another 300U with power steering, and you can have two. $1500.00 runs good, dirty gas tank.
 
There was or is a 300 Forklift Utility on eBay with PS. Think it was last week so you may have to search 'Completed Listings'. I don't think it sold.

I think the seller said he would part it out if it didn't sell. It looked pretty miserable so I doubt he got his starting price of around $1500.
 
Sounds like good advice! I will head to a local bone yard and look at some ccombines! I have emailed Jackson but so far have no response!
