Wife bought a used Ta off e-bay thought it would fit our 300. It looks like it might be ok? I have all kinds of time and tools how hard is it to rebuild one? I know every one who owns and old tractor has learned how to work on them with a little help. As I tell my Grandson about school you got to learn some day or be lost in this changing world!
 
You need to split your 300 in 3 peices. I think you still can buy a xideo on repairing a TA in a farmall. Kent

I have rebuilt one TA and I did not think it was that difficult. Most times all you have to do is replace the ramp and rollers. I would recommend getting a copy of the IH TA service manual. It will explain how to rebuilt the TA. Reprints are available in ebay, that is where I got mine.
 
the ta isnt bad at all. If the ramp looks fine I will put in new rollers and the pins that push the rollers out along with the springs that push the pins and the rubber plugs that hold the springs in place. So that is 8 of each rollers, pins, springs, and plugs, plus a large Oring and a couple oil seals. As of last feb. all these parts were available fron case for alittle over $100. get an I T book it gives good instructions but overall not very hard. I could get you a parts list of ih numbers if you need
