Farmall H # 90132 has an oil canister with markings MODE 135-9. The filter inside is a Purolator T-49. The local Case IH dealer and the NAPA dealer have been unable to help me.
From what I can tell from the Case IH website, the original oil filter canister has been replaced by what I have pictured. Does anyone know where to get the filter I need, or should I look for an original canister and switch it back? You guys have always helped me and once again thanks in advance!

If you cannot easily find those Perolator replacements, then I would defiately replace it with a stock one.Stock canisters are EVERYWHERE!!!!

I've never seen anything quite like it. Not on any tractor anyhow. Get rid of it and find an original, un-molested base, canister, and bolt.

Have never seen anything like that. I agree with others. I would replace it. What is that just above the spark plug looks like it is screwed into the head. Some kind of a temp gauge or something?

Temperature gauge sending unit.

That is definitely not an IH oil filter assembly. I would replace that with a stock assembly. They are easy to find when someone is parting out an H or the mid size on the M. I have the oversize on my Indy M but I don't like it because it takes too long before you see the oil pressure gauge move.

OK then, I will replace it with original equipment. I was leaning that way, but you guys made it clear its the right thing to do. Thanks to everyone! Oh BTW, this is another one I saved from the scrap iron man. (Salvage project number 5) I am not a farmer, just a nearly retired ER doc who was raised on a farm and hates to see this stuff get melted down. I will add it to the collection, take it on a few rides and then make sure it has a good home.

I have both the short and the tall units on hand for $10 plus $6 to mail, let me know if you are interested and which you would want. I am not sure when the serial cutoff was from tall to short but either will bolt on.
