i am looking to change the generator and fan belt on my super h. it says in the book to remove the the grill and the radiator does anyone know a short cut it sounds like a pain

Not needed. It can be done easily with only the hood lifted. (no need to even remove the muffler if you prop the hood and avoid collateral damage from sheet metal where it does not belong. The belt can be worked over the fan blade. The effort to get it over the fan belt is the difficult part. One way to avoid the need to back off the water pump pulley
to remove the fan belt to allow the new gen belt to be installed. It is the use of link style fan belt. Jim

If you take the hood off you can clearly see that there is absolutely no need to remove the grill or radiator.

What book are you reading that's telling you to remove the grill and radiator? Must be, "How To Do Things The Hardest and Most Complicated Way."

Heck, I'm surprised they're not telling you to completely remove the front bolster and split the tractor at the bell housing, just to change the fan belt!!!

Jim,
I looked at the website on those link style fanbelts, and since I've never seen them before do you think they are as durable as the regular ones?
I should replace the belt on my BN Farmall and that link style looks like an easy way to go.
It strikes me as something I'd be forever looking at every time I drove the tractor. Do you know what type of store sells them?

I would not steer you top a poor solution. Looks are not everything, and they are really solid. I have no idea where you are, (I would purchase it from the web)

I"ll try the local auto supply dealers.
My handle, LA in WI, pretty much gives away where I live....in Packer Country! I think that is just east of where you live...but I suspect some people in your area think of it as "Packer West"??? I"m sorry, that is not nice.
