I have mt tractor split right now to replace cam and gear. The ring gear starter never gave me any problems starting, egdes a little rounded.Would yall replace the ring gear or leave it in?

If they're not bad enough to tear a starter gear up leave well enough alone. Maybe a little grooming with a file or die grinder for ease of mind.

First of all, the gear teeth are supposed to be a a little rounded on the corners facing the starter, this provides for smother mesh between the starter and ring gears. If you do not have any problems with it starting and no grinding noises when you engage the starter, I would leave well enough alone. You know the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
