| its been changed, several reasons for doing that first a 6v system cranks more slowly than a 12v, if your not old enough to be used to the sound you will think there is a problem, and if all the connections are not clean, brite and tight with 0 or 1 ga cable on the battery, there will be a problem especially in cold weather, as mentioned with a cub in proper tune, it takes very little effort to start it but another advantage of 12 v systems is being able to use modern lites and other electrical stuff on the tractor, some put electronic ignitions on them if its a distributor style ignition, but i feel most of those are done by people who dont realize how simple points are to work with, us older people grew up with point systems and there just not a big deal, but you do have to get them installed right, or you'll have a no start problem |

| Though certainly not Original, it is normal. Changing to 12v (especially with an alternator) is desirable in that it makes jumping it simple. It also makes jumping polarity - to - and + to + obvious. A cub will start using 4 flashlight batteries (just kidding) so conversion to make it start better is nonsense. If it is charging leave it alone and enjoy, they are great tractors. Jim |
