belly pump, seal replacement

is it leaking at the driven seal or at the control lever? if it just leaks when your under pressure i might check the pipe fittings as they may have gotten loose or the threads may be worn.

You need to take the coupling off the front, it screws onto the shaft. Mine still leaked after changing seal, needed speedy sleeve.

when the lever is pulled back it pour from the seal. which was does the coupling screw on? and how did you get it off? i have tried everything so far and no luck

I had to take mine out, apart and put a bar between the gears to get it loose. The threads are right hand. I thing some people have been able to get the threads loose without taking it apart.

Don't overlook the groove where seal runs on
coupler, like said, may need speedy sleeve or new
coupler nut. Also, they have either a bushing or
needle bearing depending on vintage and they
definately wear out. If shaft is loose seal will
not hold. To get coupler off, I usually try a few
good wacks in counter clockwise direction with
hammer and brass drift. If that does not work I just
pull them apart and clamp gears in vise. Not unusual
to find good reason inside for taking them apart.
