i just bought new 12v headlights for the 300 yeserday and im wondering were you hook them up to make them work because i see two spots on the alternator on the bottom part i guess maybe they go there thnaks for your help!!

I put 12 volt lights on my 300 recently. I ran a wire from the ammeter to a toggle switch, a wire from the toggle switch to an inline fuse holder and then I branched it out to the three lights. I also ran a ground wire from each light base down to a bolt on the tractor chassis since the ground through the sheet metal didn't work very well. There is also a light bulb under the little cover above the dash, it needs to be changed to a 12v bulb and have the wire run over to the where the rest of the lights branch out. You don't want to hook the lights directly to the alternator, as far as I know.

If its all original row crop tractor the buld or sealed beam wire goes to the light switch and the ground wires go to the short 7/16 bolt on the back left side of the steering and hydraulic valves support. Long as its a good ground it doesn't make any difference where mounted.
Operators manual has wire diagrams and will show light locations.
