400 hydraulic levers

I have a farmall 400 with 3 remote levers for the hydraulics. The outside lever all of a sudden just turns freely on the shaft. Could anyone let me know what holds the lever in place on the shaft, and how the levers come off? The middle lever has what appears to be 2 allen screws holding it but the outside and inside dosen't have anything. Thanks

Need to move the sheet metal. Then you can see whats wrong and how to go about it. Probably a pin broke or cam out, or the link to the valve failed or came out of the holes. That outside handle is on a shaft with a lever on the other end that works the left side valve, joined by a pin. Lots of times the hole gets worn in the shaft and the lever untill the pin breaks or falls out.

D Slater, thanks for the quick response. Last time I posted a question you were quick to respond and right on the money! So I shouldn't have to remove the outside lever, and for future reference, if I do, it unfastens from inside and just slides out? I will look tomorrow and see if I can see where the problem is now that I know where to look, thanks

There is a roll pin in there that likes to break. Drive it out and replace. Than put a nail inside the roll pin and it will last a whole lot longer. Armand
