I had occasion to "help" work on one. It had the planetary reduction chewed up where the hydraulic motor drove the right side. Could have been an isolated case, though. Not easy to work on.

Find an 1840.

Not if he needs an 1830. An 1830 would do almost anything on my farm I need and an 1840 wouldn't fit in most places.
