Mounting stud for H radiator - Where?

I'm looking for a radiator mounting stud for my H to replace the one I broke off in the radiator. Since it was a holiday weekend I have not talked to the dealer yet. I've looked all over at my normal parts websites with no luck. I'll be talking to the dealer tomorrow, but I like having options if possible. [b:766394168c]Does anyone know where I can get one of these (PN = 48825DB).[/b:766394168c]

THANKS!

I see there was a couple on ebay recently that did not sell. You may try and contact the seller. here is the listing

Also Messicks shows them for $8.65

Should be able to get them from a industrial supply. Unless you want the cotter pin holes just get the same length and threads and self locking nuts. Can use coarse thread both ends if the coarse, fine thread ones are harder to get. Find some that someone put all thread rod in for the stud often. Most are softer material though.

Should be easy to make one from a 7/16 fine thread bolt. Cut it to length and put the coarse thread on, drill cotter hole.

I'd use the fine thread bolt cut to length with a fine nylock nut. Forget messing with rethreading and that cotter key.

I'm curious - what was the original stud made out of?

I've noticed the nuts are brass, but wasn't sure about th stud itself.

Wondering if it's brass, is there a reason - In other words, would putting disimilar metals together corrode your radiator and cause further problem in the long run?

Figured I'd throw it out there for discussion before you commit.

Gordo,

If I recall those are fine on the bottom and course in the radiator.

The part of the stud that screws into the raditor is short, wants to run out thread before bottoming into the raditor, will either pull mount loose, or go into bottom of raditor causing a leak.
