Water Pump Gasket Sealer

So I have done alot of water pumps and have used red spray tack sealer on the gaskets. After reading this forum I wonder if it would be better to use Pematex aircraft sealer instead. Or is there something better?

I have used the permatex product that said it was for coolant, I think it may have been in a blue tube if I recall correctly. It seemed to work, but I have not tried other things for comparison.

i use permatex high tack sealer on all gaskets for last 35 yrs. and have found no better stuff.
spray on and let get tacky and it stays in place. does not get hard either if you ever have to remove the part the gsk does not tear. and it is oil and gas resistant. its just good stuff.

On gaskets spray on copper coat works on all of them.

Permatex has a black sealer called "The Right Stuff" , I use it on all things and it is a very good product. Oil and coolant resistant. I used to use an assortment of different sealers for different jobs, but this pretty much covers it for me now.

I put hi tack on one side and nothing on the other.
