300 Utility Power Steering

Want to add power steering to a 300 utility. Don't I need to find a steering column, lines, and a priority valve from a 350 utility to make it work? There does not appear to be any place to stick a CharLynn unit in. How about an off the shelf priority valve plumbed in to the hydraulic lines running from the pump to the reservoir? Any idea where I could find the parts?

The PS is a complete unit on a 350. The 300 (or 350 for that matter) manual box is not strong enough as it is let alone putting a power assist on the input. Look to Jackson Power Steering dot com for a great way to do it. A linkage type booster is best, using the original manual gears for side to side coordination. Jim

I do not know current pricing,(no dog in that race)I do know it depends strongly on the model and condition of existing Original equipment. The Jackson site has resources and is responsive. A combine steering system (from many self propelled combines that are obsolete or fence row challenged) are adaptable with mechanical and hydraulic competency on the part of the tractor owner. Probably less than 300$ if salvaged by you. Jim
