would u know one that would crank it? i know bout the gear reduction aftermarkets, but kinda salty. this "450" has a bit more pony power under the hood, n if we didnt have to go with the small gear reduction setup n keep more of a stock look, thatd be cool. mix match parts? lol. i know, go buy the fancy one n be done with,,,,, gotta be somethin out there? thanks.

Well ya can try usen a 6 volt starter on 12 volts and if that does not work then your going to have to find some old starter , generator guy and have one built .So what your telling me is you are builting more compression then what my oner buddy's S/MTA is building with the high alt. pistons and a lightly milled 450 gas head has and we are running the STOCK 6 volt starter on 12 volts with a group 31 battery with o cables . and it starts just fine with 30 weight oil in below 0 temps setting in a pole building .

its got the wick turned up decently. i got it fired up n tuned alot better. i noted my mistakes. mostly valve adjustments for first time starts. it starts up alot better, n its got a 1100cca at 30 in her box now. ive been putting my 200amp booster on the starter n then hit the switch, n its been firing up bout everytime. does need bigger cables n i think itll be just fine. its running the new lp cyl head so it has bumped up this lil 281s pressure up a tad.
