Okay, I know that the 39 M's had a different deck on the operator's platform than the later ones. Is the bolt pattern where the steering column attaches to the deck different on a 39? The post on there now has been cobbled and only two of the three holes line up with the deck holes. Either the 39's had a different post or perhaps someone tried to adapt an H post at some point in time. Thoughts? |

| Yes the bolt pattern is different on the 39s. You can take a later M post and 2 of the bolts will fit but not the third without mods. |

| Okay. Thanks. Looks like I need to find a used post. I'm sure it will be next to impossible to find one off a 39 but who knows. |

| Might think about trying to find a whole parts tractor. There were quite a few differences in the 39s and the later ones. |

| | The H post to top casting where the steering shaft goes through is a different angle and the steering shaft will hit the gas tank and not the front steering shaft. Bob |

| Seem to remember the drop decks used three 7/16 bolts to mount the post base instead of two 7/16 and one 5/8 like the later ones. Don't remember if the bolt spacing is different, remember the base looks different. |
