the very late m's had disc brakes, heaver camshaft gear to handle a live pump, and a different timing cover to match the live hydraulic pump.

A 52 might be called a late model but doesn't necessarily mean it will have disc brakes. The disc brakes was kind of a transition tractor, they started incorporating new features into the old tractor when the old parts started running out. Similar to the water pump John Deere A's, and I have heard of 1 or 2 live power A's. Also happens in the Auto industry sometimes the cars at job one and job last are different, features maybe didn't all change at the model year or even change was staggered at different assembly plants across a period of months.

Lots of changes, May not notice a lot of them. some easy to spot. Last regular chassis type M tractor was built in march of 1952.
