super c not charging battery.

neighbor has a super c that will not charge.
he said he replaced the generator with a rebuilt
one and it charged for a little bit. nothing now.
how do u check the generator and bypass the
voltage regulator? 6 volt.

Para 5 of my Troubleshooting Procedure shows how to by pass the VR functions to see if non charging is a VR versus a genny problem.

Basically if you dead ground the Gennys FLD post that allows for for high max charge by passing the VR function, so if she charges then but NOT otherwise, the VR is bad orrrrrrr ITS NOT WELL GROUNDED,,,,,or the wires open from FLD on genny to FLD on VR (or up to the light switch if it has a cutour relay onky NOT any VR)

Insure the VR and Genny BOTH have good grounds and the belt is good n tight

ARE YOU SURE THE GENNY IS POLARIZED CORRECT??? If not see my procedure!!!!!!!!!

Quick check---ground the field terminal while running. If charging then, regulator needs attention.
