What is that noise??? - video

I've got a 1952 Farmall H that makes a weird vibration noise. It sounds like it is comeing from the fan pulley area. [b:86312a3324]Any ideas on its source? [/b:86312a3324]The belt is sort of loose. Could that be the culprit? Here is a link to the video.

maybe a bearing in the water pump

Sounds like the water pump bearings are worn out.

Definitely a water pump bearing. Been there and done that.

I knew someone on here would know what that sound was... So is this project going to be just replacing the bearing, rebuilding the pump, or replacing the pump???

My next stop is the parts catalog to see what it looks like in there.

I would also agree a water pump bearing. Have you greased the fittings?

The new pumps have sealed bearings in them so no need to grease.

I have rebuilt 3 or 4 H and M water pumps. All I had to do was install new bearings, two oil seals and the three pieces of packing. Cost was about $75 per pump, considerably cheaper than a new pump.
