Static Timing on D282

I am finishing the rebuild on my D282/301 rebuild and noticed that when the crank and camshaft are on TDC they register 5 degrees BTDC with the pulley on. I have always timed my injection pump to the pulley at TDC but now it looks like I should line up my lines on the pump at 5 degrees BTDC. Could this be the reason the engine wanted to run a little warm. (It is a combine engine going back in the combine)

Thanks

According to Motor's 1973 edition, the pulley should be at 2 deg. BTC, with marks aligned in the timing window. They did make mention of the same thing you noticed in regard to the timing marks on the gears, which they say is normal.
