My Budget Build Snow Blade

i have a super A tractor

and wanted a snow blade for some time but they are hard to fine so we decided on a budget build.
this blade is from cub tractor 54A type.
most of this build was in the mount for the tractor all mounts needed 4" wider
this project was not to bad if you have the tools (welder and mill and metal saw)so here it is my budget build hope you enjoy.

I made a leading edge blade scraper (squeege) from a 5/16 x 5inch wide strip of rubber from a conveyor belt material. It is reinforced with three different layers of nylon thread.

Looks nice enough, but too narrow. I would guess the snow will roll around the back and you will be running it over. Can't angle the blade at all or you are packing snow. In the end you worked with what you had. Nice work.

Looks good. Beats a shovel and a sore back ANY day of the week! Seriously, nice neat and clean job on it. Previous comments are correct, but in a pinch, it WILL do the job.

Only reason I mention having bars to the final drives is because I've heard of people busting the front end off on cubs if they didnt have those bars. I doubt it would happen but you never know. Would be a shame if it happened.

I plow snow all the time with my cub and the factory setup. Yes, you can bust the tool mount casting but only if you run it into something full speed and that "something" doesn't move.

These are NOT a D9. I have used mine for snow, and and push the dirt back into trenches when installing sewage or electric underground service. They are fantastic for that. Cub or A, a great little pushing machine.............when used as intended.
