Early Farmall 706 Diesel (D-282 Engine) Tachometer Drive.

Anyone have experience with removing the tachometer drive from the block of a early 706 diesel? Is it pressed into the block or screwed in? There are not visible clamps that hold it down like a normal distributor. I have stripped gears and need to look at the lower gear.

If you have no luck getting gear out with plug removed, the adaptor is just a light drive fit into block and a brass drift and hammer will punch it out. Or, could hook a slide hammer onto it.

Thanks. I will try to drive it up and out tomorrow if I can find a long enough drift. Do you know enough to tell if the oil pump drive can fall out like some automotive engines do or is it captive?

Thanks

Craig
