Adding 2 way hydraulics to super M

I want to add two way hydraulics to my Super M. I believe I can plumb a line to a control valve(Might not be the right terminology) and then that valve will have the lever that directs the flow to which end of the hydraulic cylinder gets the fluid. Is this correct or am I missing something. I want to try and figure this out before I start looking for parts and everything. Thanks -Keith

That's correct, on your super m the pressue line from pump would goto the inport on the 2way valve then be diverted to the cylinder ports. There would also be a return line from the valve to the res. The same concept was used with the belly pump om the m. Ill try and get some pics of the 2way set up on my md ( ih 2way set up) and that should give you something to go by. Would be same principle regaurdless of being ih valve or aftermarket. Jim.

Here are pics of 2way valve when used with belly pump you can see in first pic where it is plumbed into the hydraulic fill pipe for the return, in second pic the middle line in pic is the primary from pump the other 2 lines are the primarys to the remotes. Hope this helps like states before its the same concept regaurdless of type of pump used. Jim

Thinking maybe you want to get pressure from one of the pressure ports and then mount a control valve for double acting cylinders where handy. Run hose from pressure port to valve inlet. Return line from valve to drain plug on the transmission driven liftall. Put a tee in so it can still be drained. If its live hydraulic with the unit under the tank its the same hookup but the return line goes to the fill opening but that leads to trouble sometimes. A tee installed in the pump suction line works with the return hose going in the tee. Other openings on the valve are plumbed to the cylinders. Needs to be a open center valve. Also the liftall unit rod need to be locked in the pump position when using the add on valve. Relief valve in the liftall unit will still work to control the pressure.

Pick up a double-acting OPEN CENTER control valve. One with NPT type fittings is easiest to deal with.

Mount the valve in a convenient location.

Run a hose from one of the belly pump pressure ports to the IN on the new valve. Plug the other two ports on the belly pump.

Run a hose from the OUT on the new valve to the belly reservoir fill pipe under the gas tank.

Run hoses from the WORK (sometimes A & B) ports to the rear of the tractor. Add couplers, and you're done!
