I have a 706 with a 301 diesel and the motor is bad. Will the motor plate on the tractor bolt up to a 806 motor and if not what motor will with out getting a new one made.

Thanks

Parts book shows they are different.706 use 367224R2 plate and the 806 is 332446R21.You can put a 361 in the 706 but you will need allot of parts off a 806,frame rails, longer power steering lines ,grill, radiator, hood, air cleaner, lines, taller steering support, longer shifting shafts, throttle linkage, thats the big items.

I didn't know there was a 301 diesel. Thought the early 706's had the 282 w/ glow plugs and the later ones had the 310 german. Even then there's a difference in frame lengths between those two engines, the 310 being longer. Either way a 361 from an 806 will be a tough fit like the other post said.

The D301 is a combine engine made with out sleeves but basicly the same block as a D282 . Now as to if it will fit a D361 Nope not in your wildest dreams. So it comes down to either finding a D301 and going back to that of finding a D 282 . Or you can go gas .

my son put a 5.9 cummins in a 656 that had a263 gas, the hood fit used the factory radiator and fan shroud , really nice conversion ,it will go in a 706 easy just a thought tom
