I went to NAPA to get a 5 gal can of 80W-90 gear oil today. The can I got is labeled 90 gear oil, but the NAPA guy said that it is 80W-90 gear oil and he showed me that on his computer. It is NAPA number 65-205. When I got it home, I read the label and it says it is GL-1 and is for non EP (exteme pressure) applications. This is for use in letter series tractors and my IH-140. I'm thinking I'm going to take this back, because I think I should be using something rated GL-4 or 5 which is for EP applications. He did not have anything in his small store that was labeled 80-90W, but I looked that up on the internet and I think it would be NAPA number 75213. Should I use what I got, or take it back??
