f12 carb trouble

I been working on my f12 trying to get it to crank. I put a new diafram in the fuel pump, its pumping fine now. Well I tried to crank it yesterday and never could it to run. I have good spark, and fuel to carb. I took carb. Back off and apart I think I am missing a part in carb. The hole in middle of picture has treads in it. Is it suppose to have a plug or screw in it. My part manual has a part #24700 D well plug it think I may be missing that part. Any help is weclome.

Good trouble shooting. Yes, you are missing the tiny little plug. I just rebuilt the carburetor for my F12 last week and was curious about that little plug. Also, I started mine up last night for the first time since I bought it two years ago. Probably hasn't run in quite some time. I hope you can get your part (I don't know if you can buy that new) and have the same result. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Is it just a little brass plug? I have one out of another carb that will fit it. Another question when u set your float height, did u set it with float up or down. Thanks. Josh
