plow with 706

Had the.. what I referred to as (nosie 706..a few posts ago) out plowing acouple days ago on 710 3/18 plow.. was 4/18. ok,, fast hitch raises about right when i get to the end but the tailwheel is slow.. can plow ten feet past where i should have been out of the ground already. Is there something on the tractor that i can adjust to make it react a little faster on tailwheel cyclinder.. or do i have a prolem of some sort?
will appreciate any suggestions..Thanks Morry

There is a stop you can set on the tail wheel.

Lifting the 3 pt will lift the whole plow on the end by setting this stop close to touching while the plow is in the ground. No need to even lift the tail wheel when the stop is set right.

Could be yours doesn't have the stop but most do.

Sounds like you have a problem with the valve for your hydraulic remote ports.

710 is a semi-mount plow.

AFAIK, you lift it out of the ground by first lifting the 3pt, then switching to the hydraulic remote lever to lift the tail wheel. It's the part I could never get the hang of.

If your tail wheel is lifting slow, check for a flow restrictor device in the hydraulic hose for the tail wheel. It will look like a short piece of pipe in the line. It also can be built into the elbow that goes into the cylinder. Flow is not adjustable on a 706.

Another possibility is that the hydraulic hose has collapsed internally.

Wondering what size cylinder you have on the rear end. Ours is 2 x 8. If yours is 4x8 it will take a little longer to raise. When pulling out of the furrow, raise the front end just enough to get out of the ground, & then raise the rear end. You can raise the front end more after the rear is up if needed.
